From 23 September to 11 October 2026, Rome hosts the sixth edition of Roma Jewelry Week (RJW), an event dedicated to contemporary jewellery that unfolds as a widespread programme across Palazzo Altieri, the Galleria Incinque Open Art Monti and the Corsie Sistine of the Monumental Complex of Santo Spirito in Sassia. Curated by architect Monica Cecchini, the initiative brings together more than one hundred and thirty artists, designers and master goldsmiths from Italy and abroad, with the aim of telling the story of jewellery not as a mere ornament, but as an art form, research and experimentation. The event enjoys the patronage of Regione Lazio, Città Metropolitana Roma Capitale, the Assessorato Grandi Eventi, Sport, Turismo e Moda, CNA Roma, Confcommercio and Federpreziosi Roma.
The programme opens on 23 September in the elegant spaces of Villa Altieri with a preview dedicated to jewellery illustration by Barbara Brocchi, Art Director, illustrator and teacher with forty years of experience in higher education. A graduate in Illustration and Graphic Design from IED Roma, with further studies in Los Angeles and Aberdeen and a Master’s in MGK of Luxury Goods earned in the capital, Brocchi also serves as Scientific Consultant for RJW itself and for the Shenzhen China Fashion Gala.
The exhibition, on view until 27 September, starts from a precise conceptual premise set out by the curator: jewellery is born on paper. Drawings and sketches thus become the protagonists of a journey that grants museum dignity to the preliminary project, recognising drawing as the true architect of the finished object. To illustrate, Cecchini stresses, does not simply mean to draw: it means giving life on paper to a creative idea, transforming a thought into matter through a process made of signs, colours, intuitions and research — the moment when creative thought meets the power of the mark and finds its own voice.
The official opening is scheduled for 2 October at the Galleria Incinque Open Art Monti, with an exhibition dedicated to the winners of the Fine Jewelry category of the Premio Incinque Jewels 2025, Antonio Moramarco and Alberto Anderle, alongside the Resident Artists of Incinque. Though working through different languages, the two winners represent significant expressions of contemporary Italian goldsmithing research, united by their attention to material, artisanal craftsmanship and the construction of a personal artistic identity. The exhibition sets out to recount the vitality of the Italian goldsmithing scene and the role of the gallery as a space for research, encounter and promotion. The display is completed by the micromosaic work created during the RJW course led by Luigina Rech and by jewellery from byLudo and Sheila Westera.
Alongside the main venues, RJW extends to various locations across the capital: from the atelier of stylist Antonio Riva, in collaboration with designer Chiara Costacurta, to the atelier of goldsmith Myriam Botazzi, from guided visits to the Domus Bulgari to the open day at IED Roma. The edition also consolidates its collaboration with Fonderia Lefevre, an Italian company specialising in the artistic working and casting of metals, focused on combining craftsmanship, tradition and innovation.
A significant chapter is devoted to education, with the involvement of Italian and international schools and academies in a round table between students, young creatives, professionals and institutions. Among the participants are IED Roma, Accademia Italiana, the Minoss Jewelry Academy from Korea, the Patrizio Rocchi Italian Design School from Costa Rica, the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology (BIFT) from China and the Assamblage School from Romania.
From 8 to 11 October, the Corsie Sistine, within the Monumental Complex of Santo Spirito in Sassia, host the main exhibition, featuring works by more than one hundred and thirty Italian and international artists, designers and master goldsmiths, in the name of dialogue between generations, cultures and different languages. The opening evening of 8 October will be presented by international singer Maria Elena Infantino, whose debut took place at the Royal Albert Hall in London alongside Shirley Bassey on the occasion of the celebrations for the fiftieth anniversary of the Beatles, and who has since established herself on the international stage also thanks to a one-woman show dedicated to Édith Piaf, conceived in Hollywood and brought to theatres in the United States, Hong Kong and Europe.
During the exhibition, the Premio Incinque Jewels is awarded. Established in 2019 and divided into the Fine Jewelry and Experimental Jewelry categories, it offers the winning artists concrete exhibition and promotional opportunities every year. According to the curator, the recognition investigates jewellery not only as an artistic object, but as the bearer of a message of value that is also social. The jury, composed of Italian and foreign professionals, includes Laura Astrologo Porché, Alessio Boschi, Barbara Brocchi, Elisabetta Cipriani, Alessia Crivelli, Paola De Luca, Michele Forlenza, Emanuele Leonardi, Paolo Mangano, Matilde Pavone, Giuliano Percossi Papi, Bryna Pomp, Loredana Prosperi, Aldo Vitali, Giorgia Zoppolato and Sally Xiong.
Alongside the main prize are further recognitions, including the Premio Inhorgenta, which allows a young designer to take part in the 2027 edition of one of the most important fairs in the sector. The relationship between Rome and the international scene is also confirmed by the awards dedicated to Korean designer Ashley Youngsun Nam, the Special Career Award, the Premio Miss Gio’ awarded by jewellery blogger Giorgia Zoppolato, the Student Designer Award, the Main Media Partner Award by MB Media Consulting of Massimo Basile, the Journal des Bijoux Award by Laura Astrologo Porché and the Sally Xiong Award, organised by the founder of the Eastern Yixiang China Fashion Gala. This year Elena Donati renews her commitment to supporting young designers, taking on the role of patron and sponsor of two young Iranian artists, at a historical moment of particular complexity.
The theme of the 2026 edition is The Crown of Ingenuity. Jewellery as a narrative of Italian art and culture over the last 80 years. During the days of the exhibition, in Cecchini’s words, the Corsie Sistine are transformed from exhibition spaces into a place of encounter between research, tradition, experimentation and new generations, giving life to an international platform for the sharing and enhancement of contemporary jewellery, capable of putting Rome in dialogue with the global scene.
Presenting their collections in solo shows are Hiromi Suter, Yu Bin Lee and Hani Baayoun, winners of the Premio Incinque Jewels 2025, together with Alberto Zorzi, Mariam Ayvazyan, Gabriele Pedrona, Rossella Ugolini, Chiara Costacurta, Ashley Youngsun, Ivan Barbato and Kyan Jewelry by Amal Sanad. Special guests include Alessio Boschi, Percossi Papi, François Santo and the jewellers Ansuini, Angeletti and Fanuele. The overall journey places established masters and new generations, tradition and experimentation, local identities and international visions in dialogue, offering the public an overview of the evolution of contemporary jewellery.
The international dimension is further strengthened by the participation of companies and organisations from China and, in particular, from Shenzhen, including Shenzhen MEMORA Jewelry, Jingwei Chi, Zhou Liu Fu Jewellery and The King’s Dream. Their presence helps build a bridge between the Italian and Chinese scenes, opening new possibilities for dialogue, collaboration and exchange in the jewellery sector.
Among the most representative projects of the edition is Progetto Capsule Aurea Roma, an interdisciplinary capsule conceived by Monica Cecchini to bring the world of jewellery into relation with other art forms. The project is based on the generative collaboration between seemingly distant fields: every designer, artist or master goldsmith is called to work with an artist from another discipline — painting, sculpture, architecture, street art, dance, music or cinema — to create a single iconic jewel through a shared and equal creative process.
The announced collaborations include Glauco Cambi with Maupal, Chiara Fenicia with Claudio Riefoli, Antonio Fontana with Tommaso Cascella, Michele Forlenza with Giorgia Errera, Emanuele Leonardi with the poet Giorgiomaria Cornelio, Paolo Mangano with Paolo Canevari, Anna Pinzari with Luigi Menichelli, Cristiana Perali with the architect Roberta Vincenzi, Luigina Rech with Michelangelo Pistoletto, Rossella Ugolini with Vincenzo Scolamiero, Matteo Vitali with Lucamaleonte and Massimo Licciardello with Stefania Fabrizi.
On the occasion of the project, a catalogue will be presented, enriched by a critical text by Daniela Del Moro, art historian, critic and art advisor, who will also take part in a talk and confer an award on one of the participating projects. As a special guest, Alessio Boschi will take part with a work dedicated to Italian design, while the Atelier Percossi Papi will intervene in collaboration with Emiliano Alfonsi. François Santo will draw inspiration from the architecture of the Costa Smeralda and Giorgio Facchini will present a special exhibition dedicated to his own jewellery.
AUREA ROMA will also include an area specifically dedicated to Rome and to the city’s most representative jewellers, including Ansuini, Angeletti and Fanuele, called upon to recount, through their collections and history, the richness and variety of the capital’s contemporary goldsmithing panorama.
The cultural programme opens with Lo stato dell’Arte, dedicated to Vision as a project, featuring a talk by Dr Barbara Rizzato, a neurologist specialising in neuroscience, on the creative process, and the participation of Alessia Crivelli, who strengthens the collaboration with the event. These are followed by talks moderated by Laura Astrologo Porché, with contributions from leading figures in contemporary jewellery and design, including Giampaolo Della Croce, Tania Chan, Loredana Prosperi and Amedeo Scognamiglio, as well as interventions by Alessio Boschi, Antonio Fontana and Giuliano Percossi Papi, Bianca Cappello, Lucia Ajello, Sofia Gnoli, Elisabetta Cipriani and Ciga Long. The presence of the Embassy of Georgia is also expected, represented by Patima Kakhniashvili and Neno Gabelia, who will present Georgia Jewelry Week.
Among the appointments scheduled at the Corsie Sistine is the world premiere of Ritratti Musicali, an initiative conceived by Maestro Klaus Bellavitis, composer, jazz pianist and orchestra conductor, a graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. The project integrates two excellences: one-of-a-kind pieces of contemporary jewellery created by the Residents of Incinque Jewels are designed to accommodate a QR code set into the surface or inside the jewel itself. By scanning the code, it will be possible to listen to the musical track specially composed by the Maestro, giving voice to the emotional narrative held within the jewel: every musical portrait tells a story in music. The presentation of the Roma Watch Week project is also scheduled, in collaboration with Alessia Crivelli, Monica Cecchini, Asta Ponzo, Fabiana Romano and Claudio Riefoli.
The programme is completed by moments dedicated to fashion and performance, with the Sottrazioni fashion show and the participation of MAM – Maiani Accademia Moda, in a dialogue between body, garment and contemporary research within the framework of Italian excellence.
