NEW YORK, NY (September 18, 2026) — Artist Cj Hendry and Sulwhasoo, the luxury Korean beauty house, unveil Secret Garden, a collaborative art experience conceived around the hidden garden of The House of Sulwhasoo Bukchon, the brand’s flagship destination in Seoul. One of the guests was Julianne Moore.
Presented within Sulwhasoo’s global Beauty Crafted in Time campaign, Secret Garden examines the dialogue between art, beauty, heritage and craftsmanship. The project unites Hendry’s immediately recognizable drawing and sculptural practice with Sulwhasoo’s Korean roots and its celebration of 60 years of ginseng innovation.
Secret Garden takes shape as a garden-like setting built from flat-pack wooden sculptures and puzzle-like forms. Arranged together, the individual pieces grow into a sweeping, forest-like landscape — an environment visitors are invited to wander through, color and draw within.
The New York presentation unfolds at The Brant Foundation Gallery, a 7,000-square-foot exhibition space set inside a restored century-old building in Manhattan’s East Village. Secret Garden is open to the public September 18–20, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Guests receive a complimentary box of custom crayons and are encouraged to roam the garden, color its structures and create drawings of their own. On the way out, each visitor is given a co-branded shopping tote holding a 5ml sample of Sulwhasoo’s signature Concentrated Ginseng Rejuvenating Cream. A selection of limited-edition pieces created by Cj Hendry for the partnership is also available for purchase on site.
“Secret Garden is about taking something that starts as an individual piece and watching it become something far larger once everything comes together,” said Cj Hendry. “I loved the idea of building a garden people could actually step into, explore, and make their own through color and drawing. Working with Sulwhasoo let me connect my work to a brand with such a deep relationship to craftsmanship, heritage, and the notion of beauty evolving over time.”
“Sulwhasoo has always believed that true beauty is crafted over time — shaped by care, intention, and the patience to let something meaningful unfold,” said Emily Coppock, Sulwhasoo U.S. General Manager. “As we mark the 60th anniversary of our iconic Concentrated Ginseng Rejuvenating Cream, we wanted to bring that philosophy to life in a way that honors its enduring legacy while opening the door to a new sense of discovery. Cj Hendry was a natural partner. Her work has an extraordinary ability to turn time, precision and process into something joyful and unexpected, beautifully capturing the spirit of our anniversary theme, ‘Beauty Crafted in Time.'”
After its New York run, Secret Garden travels to Seoul, where it will be on view September 30 through October 8.
