The Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana in Milan invites you to experience Art in Respect – Mostra Dialogante, a captivating exhibition featuring the work of artist and couturier Filippo Sorcinelli. Running from May 15 to 27, 2025, this exhibition transforms the gallery into a multisensory space that blends fashion, painting, and fragrance, engaging visitors in a deep dialogue with the masterpieces housed within, including works by Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, and Caravaggio. Filippo Sorcinelli embodies the true essence of an artist, seamlessly integrating over two decades of experience with a vision for beauty that transcends traditional boundaries. His eclectic background fuses music, art, fashion, and perfumery, creating a holistic approach to contemporary artistry. Since 2001, he has led the Liturgical Atelier of Sacred Vestments (LAVS), and in 2013, he founded a renowned house of artistic fragrances celebrated globally.
Art in Respect is not a retrospective; instead, it serves as an introspective moment for Sorcinelli, reflecting on his journey while looking toward the future. The exhibition explores the ethical, spiritual, and aesthetic dimensions of respect, establishing a continuous dialogue between the past and the present, the sacred and the human. Visitors will admire sartorial creations from LAVS alongside Sorcinelli’s own paintings. An olfactory journey will enhance the visual experience, intertwining the physical and the spiritual. Among the showcased pieces are exceptional items, including artifacts once owned by Pope Benedict XVI and a splendid chasuble created for the veneration of the Crown of Thorns at Notre-Dame Cathedral—a testament to the idea that art encompasses not just beauty but also gesture, liturgy, and living memory.
Art in Respect invites visitors to pause, listen, and perceive, positioning each guest in the midst of an intimate and silent dialogue with the soul of art and history. This exhibition is truly a conversation between Filippo Sorcinelli and the timeless masterpieces within the Ambrosiana. The opening events include a press preview on May 15 from 10 AM to 1 PM, followed by guided tours with the artist at 11 AM and 12 PM. The exhibition is open Monday to Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM, with the ticket office closing at 5:30 PM. Please note that the venue is closed on Wednesdays. Tickets are available at Ambrosiana Ticket.
