On June 6th, the Italian band Dear Sandy will release their third single, “Out of My Mind,” under the label Zoo Dischi. The band, formed in 2025, includes Gloria M. as the lead singer, alongside Nicola Iorgi (guitar), Federico Red Grassetti (bass), and Ki (drums). With their prior singles, “BIG SHOW” and “THE CHAIN,” they have already started to make waves in the music scene.

Dear Sandy’s music blends rock, alternative, and punk elements to create a sound that is not only melodic but intensely emotional. Their work explores the complexities of being alive, reflecting on how both darkness and light are integral parts of the same journey. According to Gloria, “Out of My Mind” serves not just as entertainment but as a call to action for listeners to engage actively with their lives.

She humorously advises that one should drink at least two liters of water daily, maintain a balanced diet, exercise, and of course, indulge in a healthy dose of punk music to stay mentally fit. This metaphorical approach tells us that punk is more than just a genre—it embodies a vital need for growth and renewal, essential to the human experience.

Gloria further elaborates on the notion of “creative immaturity,” a concept introduced by the influential psychoanalyst Donald Winnicott. In her view, this immaturity drives not only personal growth but is also a vital component of society. She urges that society should be invigorated by the aspirations of youth who are not yet burdened by disillusionment.

In her message, she suggests that amidst the monotony of adulthood, it’s crucial to reclaim our youthful exuberance and celebrate the ordinary. Even if we find ourselves in therapy, the liberation that punk rock offers can restore a sense of joy and rebellion in our lives.

Dear Sandy’s message resonates deeply with those searching for balance between the idealistic visions of youth and the practicalities of adulthood. They encourage us to remain connected to our inner child, to cherish spontaneity, and to create spaces for expression and creativity.

As we await the release of “Out of My Mind,” it becomes evident that Dear Sandy is not just about music—they represent a movement, urging all of us to confront our realities with vigor and authenticity.
