Bolsena, July 28, 2026 – The Municipality of Bolsena has unveiled Perpetual, a destination film that breaks away from conventional promotional videos to deliver a fully-fledged cinematic work. Unprecedented in the Italian landscape, the project was conceived from the outset as an auteur film — supported by a structured production team and a unified visual concept — capable of portraying the city not merely as a tourist destination, but as an experience to be traversed, remembered, and lived.
The initiative marks a turning point in destination communication, aiming to position Bolsena as a premier tourist destination through the power of imagery, strength of identity, and narrative distinctiveness.
The film moves through some of Bolsena’s most iconic locations: the lake at dawn and dusk, the alleys of the historic center, the Basilica of Santa Cristina, Palazzo Cozza Caposavi, Palazzo del Drago, and spaces of memory and everyday life. Alongside the landscapes, the narrative centers on movement, the presence of bodies, light, hands, flowers, fishing nets, relationships, and the cyclical nature of time — elements that compose a poetic portrait of the city and its imagination.
Perpetual represents a production of particular significance for the tourism promotion of Bolsena and the entire Tuscia region. The script and direction by Andrea Speca and Chiara Gualterio, the cinematography, aerial and FPV footage, choreography by Alessandra Vettraino, the performers, and the production coordination by Sandro Giorgetti all contribute to building a work designed to endure. Far from being a simple promotional piece, it is an audiovisual narrative of the city from which trailers, vertical cuts, behind-the-scenes content, a gallery, a “Dentro Perpetual” itinerary, and shareable materials for operators, media, and institutional partners will be produced.
The launch of Perpetual will be supported by an integrated, nationwide promotional plan across the Visit Bolsena channels, including a dedicated landing page, social media content for Instagram and Facebook, advertising campaigns, a national press office, digital PR, engagement with local tourism operators, and public presentation events.
With this project, Bolsena moves beyond traditional descriptive communication and embraces the language of cinema to strengthen its identity, reputation, and national recognition. The goal is to make the film not an isolated episode, but the central narrative platform of Bolsena’s new tourism communication strategy — capable of generating visibility, reputation, and concrete interest in the destination over time. Every piece of content and every action is designed to guide audiences from the visual story to the real-life discovery.
Andrea Di Sorte, Mayor of Bolsena, stated: “Perpetual is an important choice for Bolsena: telling our city through a new, emotional, and contemporary language. The lake, the historic center, Santa Cristina, the palaces, the people, and the atmosphere of our territory become part of a single story, capable of conveying the depth and beauty of Bolsena. We didn’t just want to promote a destination — we wanted to deliver an authentic and memorable image of our identity.”
Hon. Francesco Battistoni, Secretary of the Presidency of the Chamber of Deputies, commented: “Perpetual demonstrates how a territory can compete on quality, innovation, and vision. Bolsena chooses not to simply showcase its heritage, but to interpret it through the language of cinema, transforming landscape, history, and identity into a story that can reach new audiences. This is an investment in tourism promotion, but also in the cultural reputation of the territory and its ability to generate appeal and development. An ambitious project that gives Tuscia and Lazio a contemporary, authoritative, and highly recognizable image.”
Alessandro Romoli, President of the Province of Viterbo, added: “Perpetual enhances Bolsena and, at the same time, strengthens the image of the entire Tuscia region, showing how quality, culture, and innovation can become concrete tools for tourist appeal.”
Sandro Giorgetti, Production & Project Management, emphasized: “Perpetual was born from the idea that a tourist destination can be told not only through what it offers, but through what it makes you feel. We worked to build a film capable of transforming Bolsena into an imaginary: a real place, but also a perception, a rhythm, a memory. It is a tourism communication project, but also an investment in the cultural and visual positioning of the city.”
Andrea Speca & Chiara Gualterio, writers and directors of the film, stated: “We imagined Bolsena as a living organism, crossed by time, water, gestures, and presences. The film is built on a continuous tension between intimacy and community, landscape and body, memory and movement. The choreography is not decoration, but a way to make visible the energy of the places and their ability to keep speaking.”
