
From the animated city of Zaporizhzhia in Ukraine, Iaroslava Slonova has emerged as a brilliant talent in the world of performance art, drawing from a rich lineage of artistry that spans four generations. With a grandmother who was an opera singer, and both parents, Svitlana and Volodymyr, who flourished as artists in magic and puppet shows, Iaroslava was destined to embrace the stage. Her artistic odyssey began at the age of seven, when her parents gifted her with simple magic tricks, igniting her passion for performing.
With a foundation built on rhythmic gymnastics, which she began studying at just five years old, Iaroslava has evolved into an internationally awarded rhythmic gymnast, choreographer, and pole artist over her impressive career spanning more than 15 years. She is particularly celebrated for her innovative pole act that incorporates light tissue, a concept inspired by her training in rhythmic gymnastics. This unique performance style earned her a coveted position in a Las Vegas residency show, where she has mesmerized audiences night after night.
Iaroslava graduated from the esteemed Kiev Circus Academy, specializing in choreography through external studies, and she holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Coaching, along with the honor of being a Master of Sport in Ukraine for rhythmic gymnastics. Her artistic journey has taken her to major stages and television shows across Europe and the United States, where she seamlessly blends technical mastery with creative flair.
Her accolades speak volumes about her dedication and talent in the performing arts, with numerous international awards in rhythmic gymnastics that reflect her commitment to excellence. Notably, she earned the title of Master of Sport in rhythmic gymnastics in 2008 and claimed the Bronze Medal at the Kobzov International Circus Festival in 2017 for her pole dance performance. Her participation as a Top 20 Finalist in the 2009 season of “So You Think You Can Dance Ukraine” garnered her further recognition, pushing her into the public eye.
A standout moment in her career came when she had the honor of being the opening act for Jennifer Lopez, which provided an unforgettable glimpse into the glamour of performing alongside such a world-renowned star. Her act on Das Supertalent in Germany secured her four enthusiastic “yeses” from the judges in 2014, further validating her place in the competitive world of performance art. Through her hard work and dedication, she was also specially hired for a residency in Las Vegas based on her captivating and original light tissue pole act.
Across her extensive career, Iaroslava has graced numerous iconic venues, including performances in Germany at the Apollo Düsseldorf and various GOP Theaters, as well as in Austria’s Teatro Linz and appearances on French television. Her talent shone in Spain during her time as an invited pole artist on the popular show “Buenafuente,” and she was recognized with a special jury prize at the Monte Carlo 36th Festival while performing with the Bingo Circus Team.
In addition to her thriving performance career, Iaroslava is a nurturing mentor and coach with a passion for helping others succeed. She has been coaching performers in Las Vegas for the show Rouge and mentoring artists from the USA who will appear in Rouge Berlin in 2025. This dedication to fostering talent showcases her commitment to the arts and the next generation of performers.
Iaroslava has also been featured in various German press articles and has appeared on Spanish national television, increasing her visibility in the artistic community. Recognized for her pioneering approach to using light tissue in pole acts, she continues to push creative boundaries and inspire audiences everywhere.
Amidst her flourishing career, Iaroslava embraced motherhood in 2019 with the birth of her daughter, who is now five years old.
