The Bagatti Valsecchi Museum participates in the seventh edition of Fuori Orticola with the exhibition From then till now | Da allora ad oggi by Hugh Findletar.

The Museo Bagatti Valsecchi is excited to announce its participation in the seventh edition of Fuori Orticola with the exhibition “From Then Till Now” by Hugh Findletar (also known as Mr. FLOWERheadZ). This exhibition runs from May 7 to June 8, 2025, with an inaugural opening set for May 6 at 7:00 PM.

In conjunction with Orticola 2025, which carries the theme “Bio, bio, bio, in the garden there’s life!”, the Museo Bagatti Valsecchi will showcase Findletar’s work. The exhibition features innovative glass creations that reflect the artist’s unique background and diverse influences.

Hugh Findletar, originally from Jamaica and trained in New York but now based in Milan, is a professional photographer known for his portrait work. Inspired by his passion for gardening, which he inherited from his great-grandmother, he began crafting glass icons, particularly his famous FLOWERheadZ. These pieces are deeply influenced by historical forms, including Egyptian masks and ancient Greek oinochoe, blending past and present aesthetics.

Findletar’s glass sculptures serve not only as vessels reminiscent of 17th-century Baroque still lifes—symbols of vanity and transience—but also as vibrant living forms that embody vitality and desire. The FLOWERheadZ dialogue with the permanent collection of the Museo Bagatti Valsecchi, creating a unique experience where Renaissance tastes meet contemporary art and nature.

The exhibition is part of Fuori Orticola, an event that promotes the dialogue between art and nature. It invites participants to creatively explore vitality as a form of expression. Findletar’s works will be placed throughout the museum, integrating with the neo-Renaissance furnishings and creating an engaging interplay of visual and symbolic references.
