On March 20, 2026, Toma released his debut EP, “Un altro pianeta”, under the label Zoo Dischi. It’s a 7-track project—three of which were already available—built around the tension between closeness and emotional distance, and around the strange, heavy ambiguity that loneliness can bring. Rather than treating solitude as something purely negative, the EP reads it as a space where feelings become clearer, where memories shift meaning, and where growth happens almost quietly, beneath the surface.

The record is anchored from the start by the three previously released tracks: “Non siamo grandi”“Una vita con te”, and “Lettera ad un soldato”. Together, they act like an introduction to the EP’s inner world: intimacy that doesn’t fully resolve, love that still echoes with doubt, and the sensation that growing up means carrying certain emotions even when you’d rather put them down. In particular, “Lettera ad un soldato” reaches beyond the song itself by tracing back to Toma’s experience on X Factor Italia (2025). That connection adds an extra layer of authenticity and storytelling, making the emotional arc feel earned—less like a concept, more like a lived moment turned into music.

At only 22 years old, Toma—born Giuseppe Toma—is originally from Tricase, and currently lives in Matino (in the province of Lecce). His path into songwriting began early: he started writing songs at 14, developing his musical world through a blend of self-taught learning and formal vocal training alongside Tony Frassanito. You can hear this combination in how the EP moves—both instinctive and deliberate. The voice carries feeling, but the compositions are shaped with care, as if every choice has a reason: each verse holds something back, each transition feels like it’s guiding you toward a new emotional angle.

“Un altro pianeta” is also the result of a full year of studio work, which gives the project a cohesive atmosphere. It doesn’t feel like a handful of separate songs; it feels like a process—months of writing, recording, and refining—until Toma finds a way to translate inner feelings into sound with greater precision. The EP captures that specific moment when an artist, after repeated attempts and adjustments, suddenly discovers a clearer language for what they’ve beencarrying. There’s an intimacy to it, but also a sense of structure: the vulnerability is present, yet the final form feels carefully constructed.

In Toma’s own vision, the EP revolves around three core themes: distancesolitude, and the responsibility that arrives with age—the kind that changes how you listen to yourself, not all at once, but day by day. Growing up isn’t portrayed here as triumph. It’s portrayed as transformation: the way your emotions get heavier, the way your perspective widens, and the way you start understanding that some separations are necessary for meaning to emerge.

With “Un altro pianeta”, Toma doesn’t just debut; he establishes a direction. He turns separation into something you can interpret instead of endure. He turns loneliness into perspective, and personal growth into a feeling that becomes shareable—something you can sing along to without needing to explain it. The EP leaves the impression of an artist who’s not only ready to tell his story, but ready to build a world around it—one song at a time.
