Florence, June 22, 2026 — The Uffizi Galleries have announced the return of a beloved summer tradition: special evening visits to the Vasari Corridor, the iconic elevated walkway that winds through the heart of Florence, connecting the Uffizi to Palazzo Pitti across Ponte Vecchio.

From July 3 to November 20, the corridor will be open every Friday evening for guided tours in groups of up to 25 people, with a total of 21 appointments scheduled. Visiting hours run from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM (last entry at 9:50 PM).

The meeting point is in the Piazzale degli Uffizi, on the Loggia dei Lanzi side. Visitors are required to arrive at least 10 minutes before their scheduled tour start time.

Often described as the most beautiful “aerial” walkway in the world, the Vasari Corridor was originally built in 1565 by Giorgio Vasari under Grand Duke Cosimo I de’ Medici. For centuries, it served as a private passage for the Medici family, allowing them to move between their residence at Palazzo Pitti and the government offices at the Uffizi without mixing with the Florentine populace.

These evening openings are part of a broader cultural initiative by the Uffizi Galleries to expand and diversify access to Florence’s artistic heritage. The program also includes participation in major European and national cultural events, such as the European Night of Museums and the European Heritage Days, alongside other extraordinary openings of the museum complex.

Tickets are available through the official Uffizi ticketing platform: https://tickets.uffizi.it/event/E93B7EAC-769C-05A3-70A4-019ED4E90BB5
