This morning, the Head of the Police – General Director of Public Security, Prefect Vittorio Pisani, and the Director of the Uffizi Galleries, Dr. Simone Verde, signed a protocol of collaboration aimed at initiating a technical, scientific, and cultural cooperation designed to plan and set up the new Police Museum Complex. The project fits into a broader initiative to valorize the Institution’s historical, artistic, and identity heritage, with educational purposes and the diffusion of a culture of legality, destined for the integration of the future Police Museum into the National Museum System.
Thanks to this agreement, the Uffizi Galleries, an autonomous institute of the Ministry of Culture of international prominence, will provide its experience and know-how, supporting the Public Security Department in content definition, offering critical support to architectural and museographic choices, and curatorship of the exhibitions.
The initiative also further strengthens institutional dialogue between the security sector and the cultural sector, reaffirming the value of historical memory as a tool for knowledge and civil participation and helping to consolidate the trust-based relationship between the Police (Polizia di Stato) and the citizen.
