Rome, Italy – Von Buren Contemporary is excited to announce the opening of its latest exhibition, The Poetic Enigma, a captivating group show that highlights the emotive qualities of its artists’ works. The exhibition features the talents of five extraordinary artists: Lucianella Cafagna, Olmo Gasperini, Donatella Izzo, Claire Piredda, and Christina Thwaites, alongside poetic contributions from Maria Novella Tasselli.
The vernissage will take place on Thursday, May 15 and Friday, May 16, 2025, from 18:00 to 21:30, at the gallery located at Via Giulia 13, 00186 Roma. The exhibition will be open to the public until June 10, 2025.
The Poetic Enigma delves into the essence of artistry, showcasing how emotional depth and poetic resonance can transcend conventional artistic boundaries. Each artist included in this exhibition brings a unique perspective that reflects their inherent poetic sensibilities.
Featured Artists: Lucianella Cafagna, born in 1968 in Rome, merges her classical training with contemporary themes, often reflecting on childhood and adolescence in her works. Olmo Gasperini (b. 1997, Rome) showcases his evolving mastery, having graduated in Painting from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in 2021. His growing presence in notable galleries marks him as a rising star in the art scene. Donatella Izzo, a photographer from Busto Arsizio (b. 1979), creates intimate narratives through her lens, with her works displayed in various prestigious collections and publications. Claire Piredda, originally from Montreal, Canada (b. 1963), combines traditional techniques in her sculpture, utilizing unglazed terracotta to evoke naturalistic forms that resonate with meditative qualities. Christina Thwaites (b. 1980, Sheffield, England), a scholar of art history and French literature, has exhibited globally, bringing her expertise in watercolors to life through her evocative pieces.
The exhibition is curated by Michele von Büren, with a presentation text by Anna Gasperini. According to the curator, the essence of poetic art lies not in adherence to rigid formulas but in the ability to evoke profound feelings in the viewers. As noted by the Victorian art magazine The Studio in 1896, the success of an artist hinges on their ability to communicate the emotions they experience through their work.
The Poetic Enigma promises to engage the audience not only visually but also emotionally, inviting them to explore the subtle layers of meaning within each piece. For more information, visit Von Buren Contemporary or contact them at info@vonburencontemporary.com.
